Lidl Lift Wages Ahead Of National Living Wage Legislation
The ever growing German retailer, Lidl have announced a plan to pay employees across England, Scotland & Wales £8.20 per hour (£9.35 for London). The rise comes into play from 1st October 2015, 6 months ahead of the governments ‘National Living Wage’. News of the rise will be likely to force some of the larger supermarkets such as Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys to do the same.
Reported by the Retailgazette, Lidl UK Boss Ronny Gottschlich has also said the retailer plan to double their UK presence following a recorded annual sales of over 4bn last year.
